How To Do A Plum/Gold Party Eye Tutorial

Hi everyone as promised, I am bringing you a step by step guide on how to do a plum and gold party eye. I have pictured each step for you and I hope it will be easy for you to follow. I have to add that I am not a professional makeup artist but have self taught myself and I hope I can inspire and give you the confidence to try these out for yourself. The main reason I started experimenting is because I couldn't justify the amount of money I had to pay out to makeup artists to do my makeup. You can create an expensive look with inexpensive products, you've just got to know how and where to apply them. Just take each step slowly and make sure you have a different brush for a each product because if your brush is overloaded with products you could end up with panda eyes, which we don't want. You can get really inexpensive brushes that do the job, I know Elf Cosmetics & Crown Brushes sell blending brushes that start from as little as £1.50!!

Lets get started.................................................................................

Step 1: Prime your eyes and then apply a cream based eyeshadow with your fingers over the eyelid just upto your crease, concentrate the colour more to the inner corner of your eye.  I used Maybelline Color Tattoo- Eternal Gold, Shade 5.

Step 2: Using a pencil in a plum colour, apply to half of your and wing it out slightly, this doesn't have to be neat at this point as we will blend it in the next step. I used a Illamasqua pencil in the colour Honour any pencil will do you could even use a lipliner.

Step 3: Blend together both bases with a soft blending brush.

Step 4: with a clean brush add some deep plum eyeshadow over the top of the plum base you have just applied and blend it out slightly to soften the edges, this will intensify the colour. I used a lovely deep plum colour form my Sleek "Oh So Special Pallette". Do the same for the gold base and blend the two together. For the gold I used a gold from my NYX Bronze Smokey Look Kit. I used the one in the middle, really pigmented .

Step 5: With the pencil plum  pencil take it under the eye and brush over it with a small brush just to soften it,then take the plum eyeshadow and run over it with a brush. Line your waterline in black and apply liner top lash line, winging it out .Apply false lashes and mascara to top and bottom lashes.

Step 6: This next step is optional, apply some glitter pigment powder over the top of the eye, this really brings out the gold. I used an Illamasqua pure pigment in the colour Beguile. This pigment is super glittery, I don't think the pictures actually do it justice but it is definitely a must have. Its really versatile because you can use it over any colour as it has loads of different shades of glitter in it. If you don't have this then don't worry, I know Barry M are doing some really nice ones at the moment.
FINAL LOOK

I know the following picture is abit blurry but I really want you to see the amount of sparkle you get from the pigment.

I hope I have gave you clear instructions on how to create this look, I would love to hear from you and appreciate any feedback or comments. I hope I've gave you the confidence to sparkle at that party !!!

Blue Smokey Eye Party Look

Hi everyone, just thought I'd post another party look for you all. I call this my blue, smokey eye look. I love this look and its so simple to recreate, I'll give you the step by step guide to get this look, so here goes ..............................................

Step 1: Prime your eyes with any primer you have, this will help your eyeshadow to stay put for them long party nights without creasing!!!

Step 2: Use a dark blue gel liner as a base, this will help your eyeshadow to stick and will help intensify the colour. Spread this over your lid and wing it out, blend it out just above your crease. ( I used Dew Pots by MeMeMe, Rich Colour Defining Cream in Moonlight Mist, This colour is so pigmented and easy to work with, I love it !!) Also take the product under your eyes and line the bottom lash line.

Step 3: Use any dark blue eyeshadow you have with abit of glitter and push it over the base you have just applied, blending out over the crease. Also line the bottom lash line with your  eyeshadow, smoking it slightly.( I used an eyeshadow from Fashionista in Midnight Blue, Shade 12, Available from Superdrugs £4)

Step 4: Use a white gold eyeshadow and apply it to the inner corner of your eyes this help your eye pop, blend it into the blue shadow . ( I used Moondust eyeshadow from Accessorize, lovely product with amazing pigments and shimmer)

Step 4: Line your top lid with a black gel liner and line inside your eyes with any black eyeliner you have . Add abit of  black eyeshadow to the bottom lash line to intensfy it abit more.

Step 5: Add some lashes for drama and coat your lashes with some mascara and that's your look complete.

I love this look but to make sure you get this look right take extra time on your blending and make sure you blend it out gradually . The products I used are really inexpensive and are available from Superdrugs, who have a 3 for 2 on at the moment on all cosmetics, so go and stock up and get practising.

Any questions please contact me and if you do recreate this look I'd love to see some pics. Remember to follow me on facebook @ Cosmeticz Junkie .

Real Techniques Buffing Brush, Perfect Foundation Brush

I'd like to share with you the brush I love using for applying my foundation. I use a the Real Techniques Buffing Brush created by Sarah Chapman from Pixiwoo. I heard so many good reviews about this brush and couldn't wait to get my hands onto it. This brush works well with powder, cream & liquid formulas, it's such a versatile brush. The brushes are made from synthetics and are so soft and feel lovely on the skin without causing any dragging. The brush is slightly domed in  shape and comes with a black rubber and and gold aluminium handle. I love using this brush to apply my cream and liquid foundation, you can really buff the product into your skin giving you such a flawless finish without leaving any streaks or lines. You can achieve a good coverage with this brush but make sure to use it in a circular motion. You can pack alot of product into this brush and the application is made soo much  quicker with this brush, without leaving you with a cakey look. You can get this brush in a the Core collection pack , which comes with 3 other brushes . The pack cost £21.99 or if you just prefer to buy the brush on its own it retails at about £10 and are stocked by Boots. Overall I love the feel of this brush and the finish it gives to my skin and its very inexpensive . I use this brush everyday and couldn't live without and for the price you are receiving a quality product. Be sure to look out for the offers Boots normally run . I've added the link below for the product and as always any questions or comments , please feel free to post them and remember to follow me on Facebook.

How to Create a Smokey Black & Gold Eye Makeup

Hi everyone , I thought I'd share with you how I do my smokey eye makeup . This look is perfect for that Xmas party, it will definitely add glamour to any do . I'll give you a step by step guide on how to create this look, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me.

Step 1: Prime your eyes, you can either do this with a primer or even use your foundation or concealer.

Step 2: For a good base, blend black gel liner over 2/3 of  your lid , (try not to go over your inner corners with the gel), winging it out slightly at the outer corners. Take the gel upto the crease and blend it out with a blending brush.

Step 3 : Apply a matte black eyeshadow over the base you have just applied this will intensify the black,     blend it out above the crease.

Step 4: Apply a gold, glittery eyeshadow to the inner part of the eyelids, blending well into the black shade to create a sexy, smokey effect. I also blended the black and gold with a smokey bronze, this adds warmth to the look.

Step 6 : Line the top of the lid with the black gel liner, winging it out slightly.

Step 7 : Run some black eyeliner accross the bottom lash line and brush abit of  black eyeshadow over it .

Step 8: Line your waterlines top and bottom with black eyeliner.

Step 9: Highlight the tear duct with the gold eyeshadow , this will open up the eye .

Step 10: Brush on some mascara and to complete the look add some lashes !

I hope this guide will help you rock the smokey eye look!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vintage - 59 Golden Melon

I thought I'd add this lipstick to my Blog as it is my all time favourite and with Xmas fast approaching us ,it is an excellent product to wear on a night out. I love all of YSL packaging and this one doesn't disappoint, it comes in a luxurious gold casing , that can be used as a mirror aswell. This colour is a light peachy, pink colour with added gold, metallic, lustre. The gold sheen in this lipstick gives the colour so much more depth and richness. . It is a satin finish and lasts upto 4-5 hours before you need to reapply. When wearing this product I apply a nude or deep pink liner and coat my lips with this moisture , rich lipstick. I then apply a goldy lip gloss that accentuates the goldness in the lipstick even more. I love wearing this lipstick when I've done a heavy smokey eye and gold/peach highlighted cheeks, this colour really compliments the look. As with all YSL products, the lipstick is heavily fragrant which I adore in products. Overall this is a luxury item and abit pricey but it's something I never get bored of using, it adds elegance to any look. It retails at £23.50 and can be purchased at any YSL counters or can be found online as well . Get it on your xmas lists xx

Barry M Lip Paint Pale Nude 154

I have to say I love the range of Barry M , they have vast range of  shades and keep up with the latest trends. I am a fan of nude lip colours and chose this Pale Nude colour , shade 154. I do like the matte black, sleek packaging and the size is small enough to carry around with you in your handbag. I love this colour as it goes on so smoothly and has a really nice peachy tone to it . I  sometimes find that nude colours can make you look washed out but not this one, it has a really warm tone to it. The coverage is great (medium to full) and is packed with moisture , I would even compare it to one of my Estee Lauder Lipsticks (Pure Colour).  I normally apply this lipstick with a brown / nude liner and blend it in .
This lipstick is not drying on the lips and would last upto 3-4 hours before reapplication is needed. This colour looks especially nice when you have done your eyes really heavy , it really compliments the look. This is a bargain at £4.95  and usually you get offers for 3 for 2's on at Boots and Superdrugs so a good excuse to buy more products :) . Overall this is a good product and value for money, its not a long lasting lipstick and you will need to reapply through the day .It a nice wearable lipstick for day and night, very versatile.

Babyliss Pro 30 Piece Ceramic Roller Set - Rollers

Hi everyone, I love wearing my hair curly and the best way I like doing it, is with the Babyliss Pro heated roller set. My hair is very long and thick and these heated rollers work the best in keeping my curls lasting all day.I love this product as there are 4 different sizes of rollers, jumbo, large , medium and small. I love the fact that you get 30 because in most roller sets the most you get is about 20. I can easily get all these rollers in my hair without each roller being too packed.  Using the different size rollers, gives your curls more definition and shape. They have two heat setting and I'd allow them to heat up for atleast 15mins before use. They also come with 15 super clips and 30 colour coded grips. The clips are really handy and make application so quick. I always put the rollers in when my hair has been washed and dried but not straightened. When my hair is damp I apply mousse to my hair and then dry it. I then apply the rollers with the jumbo rollers (red) through the centre this gives nice volume and lift and then with the rest I randomly put them in vertically and rolling away from my face . I use the smallest and medium size (yellow and white ones) rollers on the longest bits of my hair as this makes the curl tight which helps makes the curl last. Once all of the rollers have been applied,I wait for them to be completely dry - if you don't your curl won't last. I spray abit of hairspray and sometimes when they have cooled I'll blast them with the hairdryer, just to make sure they have set. Whilst they are cooling I normally apply my makeup , the whole process from start to finish takes me about 45 mins , I have long hair so if your hair is shorter the process should be quicker but definitely keep your rollers in for atleast 20mins. I finish my hair off with abit of serum and I'm ready to go .  I bought them about 2 years ago from eBay and they cost me around £39.95. Its definitely money well spent and I'm never disappointed with the results . The only thing I don't like about this product is that the size of it doesn't make it easy to travel with :(

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Hi everyone, I thought I'd mention one of the skincare products that I love using . I've been using this product for the last 5 years and is something I could not live without. It's the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish , Liz Earle only use naturally active ingredients , these range from Aloe Vera, Lavender, Cedarwood oil and many many more. The thing I love about Liz Earle products is that they smell really good and give you a feeling of freshness. This product comes with muslin cloth and is a two phase product , phase one is for cleansing and great for removing makeup and phase two is the polishing. When ordered through the Liz Earle website you'll receive your products individually wrapped in tissue paper , which is really adorable and quite exciting to unwrap.  The bottle is in a stylish light green colour and has a pump on it and if you've not gathered by now I love pump action bottles ! I use this product twice a day, I use two pumps of the cleanser and massage it into my face for atleast 30 seconds, then with the muslin cloth I polish it off with really hot water. I do spend abit extra time polishing my skin as the muslin cloth act as a mild and gentle exfoliator and removes the dead skin . It leaves my skin feeling really soft and smelling amazing , it contains Eucalyptus oil, Cocoa Butter, D-Pathenol, Glycerin, Hop extracts,Rosemary Essential Oil & Beeswax. It's really refreshing in the morning and when I'm struggling for time I often use it in the shower. Its good for all skin types and widely available via QVC, Liz Earle website & John Lewis . For a starter kit that comes with the cleanser and cloth is £14.25 and just for the cleanser £11.25 which I don't think is a bargain. This product lasts me for about a month. I have put the link below of where you can get this product from . I'm sure once you've used this product you will fall in love with it like I have . Enjoy xxx

Elf Studio Flawless Finish Foundation

I love buying makeup from Elf Cosmetics (Eyes, lips & Face). I have to say I'm abit skeptical of buying cheap foundations but when this one was on offer at £3.80 I thought why not give it a try. Its originally priced at £6.95 which is not bad at all. I bought this in a the colour Buff , I have a medium , asian, skintone with yellow undertones . It comes in a frosted glass bottle with a pump, which I like for easy dispersal . I have to say it is one of the best budget foundations I have ever bought . The coverage is medium to full and has a semi matte finish with a slight dewy finish. It is very scented which I know some people don't like but I love the smell of it , very flowery. The coverage is great and it lasts for upto 8 hours. The foundation has thick, creamy consistency but doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all and blends really easily . I love using this everyday and love the glowiness it gives but  if you prefer it to be abit more matte you could set it with powder. I buff 2 pumps of this product into my skin using my Real Techniques Buffing brush and set with a very tiny dusting of powder.  For the price you really can't go wrong , I will definitely be buying more of this when it runs out which will probably be soon as the only downside to this product is that you don't get alot of it . I recommend this product if you are looking for something that gives you coverage but a nice dewy finish aswell. You can buy this from Elf cosmetics www.eyeslipsface.co.uk and if you sign up to their facebook page you can keep up to date with the many offers they run!

YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation

I have to say I was really excited when I heard of this product. I was looking for a foundation that I could wear all day and wouldn't feel to heavy on the skin. I bought this foundation  from House Of Fraser it cost £28 for 30ml bottle. The packaging is typical of YSL , really nice and classy. The is really elegant but the only problem I find is because its glass it very heavy in your makeup bag therefore not very good for travelling with . Its has a nice gold top pump, makes it easy to dispense. I got matched up to BD50 Beige Dore , I have a medium skin tone, with yellow undertones  but really recommend you get matched up as there is a range of 22 shades , which are divided into three catergories, Rosy Beige (BR), Golden Beige (BD) & Natural Beige (B). This felt really nice on the skin and I know its abit of a cliche but it does feel like a "Second Skin". It gives the skin a really nice healthy glow and very dewy finish  I wouldn't recommend this to someone who prefers matte finishes. The foundation is water based , it can be worn very sheer but is buildable aswell . I apply 2 pumps of
this foundation with my Real Techniques Buffing Buff and I do apply abit of powder to set it as it can feel abit tacky otherwise. Although a very sheer foundation it does cover blemishes and give your skin a real even tone, I'd class it as a medium coverage. . It gives you an illuminating glow as the powder particles which are found in most foundations have been replaced with a soft focus gel and has liquid gold in it aswell .The foundation doesn't last all day , I'd say after 6-7 you would start to see it fading, it isn't full coverage. The foundation is heavily scented , which I really like. Although it cost £28 you don't need alot and a little does go a long way.
